FTC Boss Reacts To Politician's Questions About Microsoft Deal To Buy Activision Blizzard
Microsoft is in the process of attempting to acquire Activision Blizzard in one of the biggest acquisitions in history. At $68.7 billion, it’s not just the biggest video game acquisition; it’s one of the largest of any kind across all business sectors. As such, the deal is facing regulatory scrutiny, including a lawsuit from the United States government’s Federal Trade Commission.
FTC chair Lina Khan was questioned by the Committee on Energy and Commerce this week, where she faced a question about Microsoft’s proposed buyout of the Call of Duty company. Khan was not able to speak directly about the deal because it’s in the midst of administrative proceedings, she said. As such, she said she would let the FTC’s official complaint speak for itself. That being said, Khan was able to …

Reporter Jeff Grubb of GameSpot sister site Giant Bomb says Microsoft is considering bringing Gears of War to PlayStation. This would be yet another game that Microsoft is reportedly thinking about bringing to its rival’s platform, following previous reports that mentioned Starfield, Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

This new Ghostbusters has none of the redeeming qualities of i…

There is no per-match XP and there will not be a separate XP progression system outside of the battle pass at launch.
In the September edition of Inside Infinite, 343 Industries responded to the feedback about this, saying it is “actively exploring” giving players more weapons to progress through multiplayer beyond the battle pass alone.

Season 1 of Paramount+’s Halo TV series will be available for home video release November 15 in limited-edition 4K UHD steelbook, 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD. IGN was first to report.
After nearly a decade, the Halo television series debuted earlier this year–and even before the first episode aired, Paramount already greenlit it for Season 2. It was first announced alongside the Xbox One back in May of 2013 as a TV show meant to premiere on the just-announced console, with Steven Spielberg executive producing. The show spent years in development with different networks and personnel at the helm, but here and now, David Wiener–as originally announced when Season 1 was entering production–will act as showrunner and executive producer for Halo Season 2 after havin…
