After 4 years, Destiny 2’s Cayde-6 finally gets the memorial he deserves-

It’s Lightfall day, and players are already finding new details in Destiny 2’s latest expansion. Those who visit the Tower before jetting off to Neomuna will notice some redecorating that has occurred in the time since the game went offline for maintenance. Near Zavala you’ll find the new Monument to Fellowship, and with it a memorial to a long-departed NPC.

Cayde-6 was the Nathan Fillion-voiced joker of the Vanguard—the de facto leaders of the Guardians. His death was the inciting incident of Destiny 2’s first expansion, Forsaken, and was teased heavily in the run-up to its release back in September 2018. It was a dramatic moment for fans: the first major on-screen character to die his final death in the fight against the Darkness.

The new memorial is a simple bust wi…

‘One million street-level deals’ worth of methamphetamine smuggled in PC case shipment

Ordinarily when we hear about a PC hardware smuggling story, it’s something like a bunch of ex-crypto mining GPUs making their way illicitly over a border, or a collection of CPUs badly taped to a man attempting to make his way through customs. Here though, the tables have been turnedas this time it’s the hardware itself that’s been used to smuggle something far more valuable.

Australian authorities have discovered a Malaysian man attempting to import 100 kg (200 pounds) of methamphetamine into the country, stashed inside a collection of PC cases (via Techspot). The offending articles arrived via an air cargo assignment, and on inspection revealed multiple large packages of suspicious white powder stashed inside.

A laboratory test confirmed that the…

A new AI image generator has popped up without a named creator or any explanation, and it’s seemingly already surpassing its competition

I’m already quite sceptical of AI image generation. I’m cautious of the way it seems to flippantly skirt around (or entirely ignore) copyright, and I worry about the negative feedback loop of replacing artists from making art. Caution is important to practice, especially now that red_panda, a brand-new image-generation tool, has just been spotted on a site dedicated to voting for the best AI and rocked straight up to the top of the leaderboards.

As reported by TechCrunch, a site called Artificial Analysis has a section called “Arena” that allows users to vote between two images on which fits a given prompt best—the two images being generated by different AI image generation models.

In the leaderboard, red_panda sits at the very top, with a 72% win rate. This means th…
